WHY IS THE DEMAND FOR FLEXIBLE WORKING ON THE RISE IN CANADA?
For today’s workforce, the strict demands of the 9-to-5 no longer appeal; with more and more people finding value in flexible working hours, remote work, custom working arrangements and compressed workweeks.

SHOULD DEVELOPERS WORK WITH A RECRUITER?
With IT jobs being in such high demand, do developers really even need the help of recruiters to progress their career? We discuss.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR INTERVIEW PRESENTATIONS?
For some they are a necessary evil, for others, they are an exciting opportunity to showcase skills and abilities. Either way, if you are interviewing for a senior role it’s likely you’ll be asked to make a presentation during the process. Before you delve into research and designing the perfect PowerPoint, I urge to first consider exactly why a presentation request has been made; and more importantly, what you will be judged on. Typically interviewers are assessing 5 core areas…
DO INTERVIEWS NEED TO BE TAILORED TO EACH CANDIDATE?
Hiring the wrong candidate is, quite simply, one of the most expensive mistakes made by HR decision-makers. Whilst there are many reasons behind why a new employee fails, the steps you take when interviewing will determine the difference between a poor hiring decision and one which adds value to your business. Every candidate is different. Every job role is different. Every company is different. This all seems obvious, but if it is, then why are so many interviewers sticking with the same interview processes time and time again?

HOW TO CONTROL NERVOUS ENERGY DURING INTERVIEWS?
It’s eleven forty-five, you’re stood outside looking up at the building where your career’s future could be decided in 15 minute’s time, suited and booted, ready to step inside… But, something’s holding you back. You’re suddenly aware of your every heartbeat, every breath. Your head starts to play tricks; are you really right for this? What if I forget something important? Your hands are trembling, knees shaking - you are being consumed by excess energy and nervous anxiety.

CAN WE NOT JUST ADVERTISE JOBS OURSELVES?
Let’s face it, recruitment is easy right? Put a job out, relevant people apply, you handpick the best, conduct interviews, choose your favourite, done; but, if that’s true, why is the recruitment industry now considered one of the fastest-growing globally? Yes, any HR professional or Hiring Manager can write and publish job adverts, however, the process is time-consuming, complicated, extremely competitive, and potentially very expensive if not conducted in the best manner. In this article we discuss why, although you can post your own ads - working with recruiters can often be the more advantageous option.
